Lisburn Chamber of Commerce hosted a meeting on Tuesday April 9th with Retail NI chief executive, Glyn Roberts to discuss new development plans at Sprucefield Retail Park.
In addition to a planning application for a new Lidl supermarket, an application has been lodged for over 8000 square metres of retail space, multiple restaurants, and a hotel.
Both organisations agreed that if successful, the planned development will have a serious detrimental impact on retail and hospitality businesses in Lisburn city centre.
Objections to the planned developments are to be raised and local political representatives are also to be lobbied on the issues raised by Chamber members.
