Tell us a bit about yourself…
I am a wife, mum and a business woman. I have had my business, Ruthless Media, for the past 5 years.
Prior to this, I worked for 15 years in non-profits with children, young people and families.
I am currently learning sign language and love to bake (when I have time).
What made you want to pursue a career in Social Media?
In my previous roles, I always helped with the social media so I understood the burden on businesses. I saw a gap in the market to help people and share all the tricks and tips I had learned over the years. I’ve always been quite analytical and social media is perfect for that. It also gives me an opportunity to be creative which I enjoy.
Why did you join Lisburn Chamber?
I joined when I was new in business and I thought it would be the perfect place to make connections, support the local community and get to know other entrepreneurs.
Why did you join the Chamber Committee?
When I was member, I felt I received a lot of support from the Committee. Sometimes the Chamber can be seen as retail orientated and I wanted to make sure others could see that many industries are represented.
How did you feel when you were nominated for Chamber President?
When asked to consider the role, I immediately thought no. Life was too busy with my kids, a house build and work.
However, I reflected on it and thought it would be nice to give back to the Chamber and the Lisburn community. I was also conscious that the opportunity may never come around again, so I decided to go for it!
I’m 3 months into the role. I’ve lots to do and lots of members to meet. Please be patient and feel free to approach me anytime.
