Lisburn Foodbank Presentation

As a result of the Chamber Christmas Appeal, President, Katrina Collins was delighted to present a cheque for £2,700 to Lynsey Agnew from the Lisburn Foodbank. The money was used to support many needy families and individuals in the run up to Christmas.

Commenting on the donation, Lynsey reported that In December, Lisburn Foodbank made up 400 hampers to go out to our partner agencies for families in need in the local community. The Foodbank fed 1442 people in the month of December and distributed 15,000kg of food throughout the community, which included giving around 2500kg of food to partner organisations in the city to enable them to make up hampers for service users. Lisburn Foodbank was also able to give out 200 vouchers for local butchers and 50 turkey/ham joints to families for Christmas, as well as over 1200 pair of pyjamas. This is all only made possible by the ongoing support of our local community, who so generously give to the foodbank, week on week to help support the most vulnerable in our city.
