Lisburn Chamber has been successful in securing funding from the UK Government Climate Change Challenge Fund to allow the Chamber to pilot Northern Ireland’s first ever returnable coffee cup scheme. We will purchase around 5000 returnable coffee cups for use in a Chamber-led pilot project which will see at least 10 our of member-owned city centre cafes and takeaways offered a share of the cups free of charge. The cups work on a deposit basis, where a customer will pay £1 to ‘borrow’ the deposit scheme cup and get it refunded when they return it or alternatively swap it for another Cup for free at any of the participating Businesses.
