Working as part of a Community First Responder (CFR) Scheme, CFRs are volunteers who live or work within their community and are trained to attend specific 999 calls, providing a complementary service in partnership with the NI Ambulance Service.
Lisburn Chamber was please to support an information and recruitment evening which took take place at Lagan Valley Island on Tuesday 22nd March.
Graham Walsh from Avonmore Training explained the background and the reasons for setting up a First Responders Group to cover the Mid Down and Lisburn district. An excellent turnout included a number of volunteers who wanted to be part of the new group, which is due to launch in November.
